Climbing by Pamela Garland

It’s important to keep up with our exercises to stay fit to handle all our chores of the season. Creative use of bows for Jangles!

Elfball by Pamela Garland

“Yeah, that’s a great Christmas game idea but I don’t think it’s really practical for non-elves and it doesn’t leave many ornaments for the tree.” I don’t think it’s glitter on the floor but rather shattered glass ornaments, uh-oh.

Zorbing by Pamela Garland

Got to admit this looks like fun! I have been zorbing (or zorbed, not certain of the correct terminology here). After getting a boost to get inside the ball I laughed so hard all the way down the hill that my sides were sore. It really is lots of fun!

Frosty the Snowman by Pamela Garland

Frosty the Snowman was a jolly, happy soul with a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal – Frosty was playing in the backyard with our dog and when she came in for the night Frosty said he would stay under the arbor where it would be cooler. We have had warm temps lately and I guess even during the night it was just too warm for him. This is all that remains of Frosty as I discovered this morning. It appears that he stepped a little towards the pool, where I am most certain the water would have been cold enough to keep him frozen but alas it’s possible the water would have caused him to melt away too, though not being a snowman expert that is only conjecture on my part. But, hey, he said he’d back again someday!

Happy Christgiving by Pamela Garland

I fought a valiant fight but ultimately succumbed to decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving! Today at our house we are celebrating Christgiving, with a combination of some Christmas decorations alongside our fall and Thanksgiving ones. Happy Christgiving to you all!

Angel of Darkness by Pamela Garland

Is the Angel of Darkness sinister or benevolent? I’ve seen it played both ways. Guess your answer may be determined by whether or not you are afraid of the dark or if you are an optimist or pessimist.

Shadow of a Ghost? by Pamela Garland

Do you notice something weird here? There is a shadow that appears to be a woman carrying a candle up the stairs but there is no woman! I’ve heard vampires have no reflections in mirrors but I know of no logical explanation for this.

Aerial Warfare in the Fall by Pamela Garland

The other day I was watching at least 6 different mockingbirds chase and swoop and fight with each other. This went on for hours. I would expect that perhaps in the spring with males fighting for females but why this aerial warfare in the fall? Research explained that the birds that were farther north head south in the fall and try to take up residence in the territory of the birds already here. These would be all “unmarried” males trying to stake out their territory in preparation for the spring fling! I’m sure this applies to other species of birds as well so now you know why all the noise and aggression in the air in the fall.
